Time Is a Sequence of Flowers

Time Is a Sequence of Flowers is an exploration of the seasons of the living world, different color systems and the poetic potential of color naming. It focuses on strengthening the connection with natural transition and metamorphic processes that can still be felt in Central Europe under the current climatic conditions. Color palettes and combinations are extracted from diary-like, long-exposure cell phone photographs of plants, arranged by season. The names of the individual colors are compared with historical color systems and a compilation of these often very poetic designations will be presented in an exhibition and an accompanying publication in September 2025.

Good Demons Only/Samo dobri demoni

Good Demons Only intertwines human experience with other forms of life that shape our perception of what we refer to as nature. It delves into the understanding of our existence as part of the world – which is, in the book of poems, understood as an environment and multi-species community. Chance encounters and a kind of perceptive openness are essential for the closeness and intimacy of the atmosphere in the poems, in which the human experience of encountering plants and animals is merged into linguistic forms of being. Language is thus allowed to grow beyond the limits of solitary existence and offer a vision of a more powerful reality that is only possible in connection with (an)other life. An excerpt from the collection was published in German in March 2025 in the journal “Literatur und Kritik” (Salzburg, Austria). Samo dobri demoni will be published in spring 2025 by HDP (Croatian Writers’ Society) in Zagreb, Croatia.

Celebration of the Plant Body (with Hanna Schimek)

April 4–6, 2025, Aegina, Greece

This three-day workshop is envisioned as a celebration of the plant body. Together we will study the forms and colors that make up a plant, but also dedicate time to observing its temporal dimensions. Following the progression of plants from seeds to seedlings to full-grown individuals and finally their decaying, wilting return to the soil, we will connect to the different time scale that plants exist on.

June 8, 2025, 11–15, Drawing workshop as part of Volle Blüte – Literarische Spaziergänge at the Botanical Garden in Vienna.

Garden Times is a series of “Drawing and Reading Clubs” held in various gardens, urban landscapes and art spaces related to nature. The focus is on communicating biodiversity through artistic approaches and defining the garden as a space, atmosphere and way of thinking. In the Drawing Clubs, drawing becomes an immediate poetic gesture that involves the cultivation of a deep-seated awareness of plant life and approaches interrelational habitats. Garden Times is an investigation into the potential of the garden to influence our perception and extend it towards plants and other more-than-human actors.
